چکیده

It is well known that a cardinal B-spline of order m,m ∈ N, is a piecewise polynomial function. In this note we propose an effective method for calculating the coefficients of polynomials which constitute a cardinal B-spline. © 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Splines in Numerical Integration

We gave a short review of several results which are related to the role of splines (cardinal, centered or interpolating) in numerical integration. Results deal with the problem of approximate computation of the integrals with spline as a weight function, but also with the problem of approximate computation of the integrals without weight function. Besides, we presented an algorithm for calculat...

Estimation of Variance Components for Body Weight of Moghani Sheep Using B-Spline Random Regression Models

The aim of the present study was the estimation of (co) variance components and genetic parameters for body weight of Moghani sheep, using random regression models based on B-Splines functions. The data set included 9165 body weight records from 60 to 360 days of age from 2811 Moghani sheep, collected between 1994 to 2013 from Jafar-Abad Animal Research and Breeding Institute, Ardabil province,...

Cardinal B-spline dictionaries on a compact interval

A prescription for constructing dictionaries for cardinal spline spaces on a compact interval is provided. It is proved that such spaces can be spanned by dictionaries which are built by translating a prototype B-spline function of fixed support into the knots of the required cardinal spline space. This implies that cardinal spline spaces on a compact interval can be spanned by dictionaries of ...

Reconstruction of splines from local average samples

We study the reconstruction of cardinal splines f(t), from their average samples yn = f ∗h(n), n ∈ Z, when the average function h(t) has support in [−1/2, 1/2]. We investigate the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the following problem: for given dates yn, find a cardinal spline f(t), of a given degree, satisfying yn = f ∗ h(n), n ∈ Z. 1 Spline interpolation and average sampling First...

Characterization of Biorthogonal Cardinal Spline Wavelet Bases

In both applications and wavelet theory, the spline wavelets are especially interesting, in part because of their simple structure. In a previous paper we proved that the function m;l is an m th order spline wavelet having an l th order spline dual wavelet. This enabled us to derive biorthogonal spline wavelet bases. In this paper we rst study the general structure of cardinal spline wavelets, ...
